Hector Hernandez
Volunteer Ministry Team Leader Hector is an alumni from CSULA and received a BA in Animation along with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. His time as a student was deeply shaped by his involvement with CSULA’s InterVarsity chapter. He was born into a pastoral family and has walked with Jesus since he was 13, where he made a public declaration of faith. During his time with CSULA-IV he was able to grow spiritually and also in character. He has also made many lifelong friends and experienced many impactful moments throughout his years as a student leader. Hector’s heart for students getting to know Christ has only grown, which is why he decided to step into a campus ministerial role with CSULA-IV. He enjoys every moment with students and seeing them live out their own callings in the same faith that has impacted his own testimony. Beyond ministry, his life centers around family, food, and flora. Being deeply family-oriented, he prioritizes quality time with loved ones above all else. Growing up on the Food Network, he watched his childhood heroes wear aprons; today, he loves discovering new flavors and inventing recipes inspired by different cultures and historical eras. As an avid lover of nature, he finds peace exploring God's creation, whether hiking mountain trails, swimming in rivers, or camping across desert plains. |
