Shannon Burghardt, Campus Minister Associate

Shannon Burghardt is a Campus Ministry Associate with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Cal State LA. She was first introduced to InterVarsity as a freshman and served as a student leader until she graduated in 2020 with a degree in Liberal Studies – Elementary Subject Matter Teaching. During her time on campus, she helped organize outreach events, led weekly Bible studies, discipled new leaders, and walked alongside students in their personal, academic, and spiritual journeys. One of her greatest joys as a leader was seeing students encounter Jesus through Scripture and grow in authenticity and maturity in their walk with God.

Before joining InterVarsity staff, Shannon spent 12 years working in public education with both the Mojave and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. She currently lives in El Sereno and attends First Love Community Church in East LA, where she has served in prayer, worship, and youth and young adult ministry.
Shannon finds joy in reading in cozy bookstores and libraries, discovering new tea houses and boba spots, dancing, and connecting with God in nature through hiking, walks in the park, and beach days.
